Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Mainstream High School, Widnes
Contract: Long-Term, Full-Time (5 days per week)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive high school in Widnes. This role involves providing 1:1 support for students with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum, reach their full potential, and thrive in a mainstream environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with students with SEND to provide tailored support in both academic and social contexts.
- Assist in the delivery of differentiated learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students, encouraging independence and confidence.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENDCO, and other staff to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies.
- Monitor and report on student progress, offering feedback to staff and parents/carers as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEND students, particularly in a 1:1 or small group capacity.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Knowledge of SEND strategies and relevant training (e.g., Autism, ADHD, or behaviour management) is highly desirable.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
