Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Woolston, Warrington
Working Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
We are seeking a dedicated, forward-thinking SEND Teaching Assistant to join this vibrant and inclusive primary school in Warrington. This is a full-time role, working 5 days a week, where you will provide vital support to children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met both in and out of the classroom.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
- Take initiative to adapt lesson plans and activities to support the progress of SEND pupils.
- Foster the personal, social, and emotional development of students with additional needs.
- Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure all students have equal access to the curriculum.
- Monitor and record progress, offering regular feedback to teaching staff and parents/guardians.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEND students is essential.
- A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to take initiative and think creatively.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential.
