Are you passionate about supporting SEND learners and making a real difference in their education? We are looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream secondary school and provide tailored support to students with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and MLD.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assist SEND learners throughout the school day, ensuring they can access learning in a structured and supportive environment.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping students stay engaged and reach their full potential.
- Support learners with behavioural needs, using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour strategies.
- Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual learning plans (ILPs) and classroom adaptations.
- Assist with social, emotional, and sensory regulation to help students feel safe and confident.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous SEND experience, particularly with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, or MLD.
- Confident supporting students with behavioural needs in a mainstream setting.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to build positive relationships with students.
- Understanding of behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.
