SEND is seeking a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Science Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will be crucial in providing specialised science education to children with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging science lessons to students across Key Stage 2,3 and 4.
- Help develop the science curriculum to align with national standards and educational goals, ensuring it meets the needs of all students across key Stage 2,3 and 4.
- Providing guidance and support to science teachers, including mentoring, coaching, and facilitating professional development sessions to enhance teaching practices.
- Create an inclusive and caring learning environment for our young learners.
- Supporting students in their science studies, providing additional resources or interventions as needed to enhance learning outcomes and engagement.
- Monitoring the quality of science teaching and learning through lesson observations, feedback mechanisms, and evaluation processes, ensuring high standards are maintained.
- Working collaboratively with other school leaders, teachers, and stakeholders to promote cross-curricular initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, and the integration of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.
Ideal Candidates:
- 5 years experience as a science Teacher, ideally in a SEND setting.
- Proven ability to lead a team and support colleagues and students.
- Sound knowledge around the Science curriculum.
- Passionate about the development of SEND students.
- Experience with Key stage 2,3 and 4.
- Experience adapting lessons to meet the needs of SEND students.
