Arabic-Speaking Multi-Sensory Teacher

Location: Doha, Qatar

An outstanding International PMLD School in Doha seeks a highly motivated Arabic-speaking Multi-Sensory Teacher to join its team. This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialist setting dedicated to supporting children who are deafblind and/or multi-sensory impaired (MSI) through personalised and innovative teaching approaches.

About the Role

As a Multi-Sensory Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver highly specialised and individualised teaching and learning approaches for children with deafblindness and multi-sensory impairments.

  • Adapt communication methods, including tactile signing, visual cues, and assistive technologies, to meet the unique needs of each learner.

  • Assess and monitor students’ progress at both pre-school and school levels, maintaining detailed and precise records.

  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to develop holistic and effective education plans.

  • Provide training and professional development on MSI strategies to educators, therapists, and support staff.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Teaching licence and qualifications for teaching children who are deafblind, multi-sensory impaired, or have hearing/visual impairments.

  • Minimum three years’ experience working with children who are deafblind and/or multi-sensory impaired.

  • Experience in adapting curriculum, communication methods, and learning strategies to suit individual needs.

  • Ability to assess and evaluate children’s needs in home and school settings.

  • Willingness to undertake training on Central Auditory Processing Disorders (CAPD) and gain specialised qualifications in communication methods for deaf and deafblind students.

  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft reports and develop training materials.

  • Arabic fluency is essential for this role.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
