We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Support Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Trafford area. This role involves providing crucial support to students with complex needs a full-time capacity, as per the school’s requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Support Students with Complex Needs: Work closely with students who have complex needs, providing individualized assistance to help them access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.
- Collaboration with Teachers: Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement tailored learning plans for students with complex needs. Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Personal Care: Provide personal care assistance to students, including but not limited to toileting, feeding, and mobility support, ensuring their well-being and dignity.
- Adaptability: Be flexible in adapting support strategies to cater to the unique needs of each student. This may involve using alternative communication methods, assistive technology, or sensory interventions.
- Behavior Management: Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with parents, teachers, and other support staff to provide regular updates on student progress and any challenges faced.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of student progress, behavior, and any incidents, ensuring that all relevant information is documented and shared appropriately.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience working with students with complex needs and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is essential.
- Qualifications: A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special needs support is highly desirable.
- Empathy and Patience: Demonstrate empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting the individual needs of students.
- Team Player: Work effectively as part of a collaborative team, contributing to a positive and supportive working environment.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to the dynamic needs of the students and the school, including willingness to work part-time or full-time hours as required.
