SEND are looking for a highly motivated and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to work with a very challenging child in Year 1 who has ASC and very challenging behaviour. The successful candidate will need to be resilient, patient, and dedicated to supporting the child in their learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the child with their daily activities and academic work in the classroom
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement individualised learning plans
- Help to manage challenging behaviour through effective behaviour management strategies
- Provide emotional support and build positive relationships with the child
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure consistent support and progress monitoring
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience of working in a primary school setting
- Experience of working with children with complex need
- Understanding of child development and learning styles
