Are you a patient, resilient, and experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real impact? We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with high needs and challenging behaviour in a specialist SEND school.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position working 1:1 with a student who requires intensive support to engage with learning and develop essential life skills. You will work closely with a teacher to create a structured and nurturing environment where the student can feel safe, supported, and understood.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing 1:1 support for a student with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
Working alongside a teacher to implement tailored learning and behaviour strategies
Supporting emotional regulation and social development through structured interventions
Managing and de-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
Building a positive, trusting relationship with the student to encourage engagement
Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

Experience working with students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
A calm, patient, and resilient approach to behaviour management
Strong understanding of de-escalation techniques and emotional regulation strategies
Ability to build trust and rapport with students who require high levels of support
Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (desirable but not essential)A passion for making a difference in the lives of SEND learners

Pay: £95.00-£100.00 per day

Education:

  • Certificate of Higher Education (preferred)

Experience:

  • Special education: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
