Job Description: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEND English Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality English education, tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a love for English, developing literacy skills, and supporting the overall academic and personal growth of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons that are differentiated to meet the individual needs of students with Autism and other associated challenges.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff members.
- Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing regular feedback and reports to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and fosters a love for learning.
- Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of each student.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in SEND education.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching English at the secondary level, preferably within a SEND setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of Autism and other associated challenges.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
- Additional qualifications or training in SEND education.
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Familiarity with sensory integration techniques and assistive technology.
