Full Job Description

SEND International is seeking a dedicated and compassionate High School Counsellor to foster a psychologically healthy school environment and provide essential support to students with additional needs. The successful candidate will guide students in their academic, social, and emotional well-being, while also assisting with career planning and future aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a yearly action plan of counselling programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ intellectual capacity, academic achievement, and personal strengths.
  • Provide individual and group counselling to support students’ social, academic, and emotional well-being.
  • Work closely with students in their final year to support their transition to higher education or career pathways.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to implement strategies that reinforce positive behavior and student development.
  • Deliver workshops for teachers to enhance their understanding of student needs and classroom conflict resolution.
  • Assist teachers in integrating mental health awareness into academic and extracurricular activities.
  • Prepare reports on counselling services and student progress.
  • Act as the Student Council Advisor, where applicable.
  • Carry out other tasks as assigned by the Head of Student Services.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Counselling, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 2-5 years of experience in school counselling or therapeutic settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
