Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support the educational development of students, particularly those with special needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a strong ability to communicate effectively with children, especially those on the autism spectrum. This role involves working closely with teachers to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Duties

  • Assist the lead teacher in delivering educational activities and lessons tailored to the needs of students.
  • Provide support to children with special educational needs, including those with autism, ensuring they can engage fully in classroom activities.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive interactions among students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, fostering an environment where they feel safe and encouraged to express themselves.
  • Support individual students in their learning, providing additional assistance as needed, particularly in areas such as literacy and numeracy.
  • Participate in planning and preparing educational materials that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Assist with toddler care when required, ensuring their safety and well-being during activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report any concerns to the lead teacher.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or autism, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with students and staff.
  • A genuine passion for educating children and supporting their individual needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards fostering children’s development.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare would be an advantage but are not essential.

Pay: £400.00-£476.60 per week

  • Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)

Experience:

  • Special education: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
