We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a learner in our independent provision. This is an exciting opportunity to join a specialist, nurturing environment where you can have a real impact on a young person’s educational and personal development.

About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a learner with SEND needs.
  • Tailor support to meet the individual’s EHCP goals, ensuring they are fully engaged in learning and making progress.
  • Implement differentiated learning strategies, breaking down tasks to make them accessible and achievable.
  • Use positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques to support emotional regulation and engagement.
  • Assist with sensory needs, including implementing movement breaks and using sensory resources where appropriate.
  • Foster a trusting relationship, acting as a key point of support and encouragement.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure a holistic approach to learning.
  • Provide personal care support where required (training can be provided).

About You:

  • Experience working with SEND learners in an educational, residential, or care setting.
  • Understanding of ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other additional needs.
  • Ability to differentiate tasks and use engaging strategies to support learning.
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm and patient approach.
  • Knowledge of communication aids, such as visual timetables and PECS, is beneficial.
  • A team player who can collaborate with staff and external professionals.
  • Safeguarding knowledge and an understanding of the importance of keeping learners safe.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £95.00-£115.00 per day

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Experience:

  • SEND: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • DBS (preferred)
