Job Title: Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Teaching Assistant

Position Overview:
We are looking for a dynamic SEND Teaching Assistant to work closely with our students who have special educational needs and disabilities. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students, ensuring that they receive personalized assistance tailored to their specific requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with SEND, assisting them with their learning and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
  • Implement strategies to support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the diverse needs of students with SEND, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/guardians as appropriate.
  • Promote independence and autonomy among students with SEND, empowering them to achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to enhance learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs and disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting students facing challenges.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of students and the school environment.
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: £72.00-£80.00 per day
