Are you able to teach English & Maths to entry-level 1/2 and be an enabler for students who are overcoming so many learning barriers in their lives? Can you create engaging and dynamic lessons and do Youth Work?

Salary: £26,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (Monday to Friday)
Location: Near Brampton (Must be able to commute/drive)

We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated Youth Development Tutor with a special interest in supporting students with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), including those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of empowering students by providing personalized tutoring in English and Maths, adapting your approach to suit the unique learning needs of each student. What You’ll Do:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths lessons to students with SEMH, ASD, and other learning barriers.
  • Create an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel safe, motivated, and engaged.
  • Work closely with staff to develop individualized learning plans that ensure student progress and success.
  • Champion positive change by using innovative strategies to support students’ emotional and academic development.
  • Follow safeguarding guidelines to maintain a safe environment for all students.

Who You Are:

  • You have experience supporting students with additional learning needs, including SEMH and ASD.
  • You have a strong understanding of the English curriculum and effective teaching strategies for diverse learners.
  • You are familiar with safeguarding practices and hold, or are willing to apply for, a DBS check.
  • You are a passionate educator who thrives on helping students overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
  • You possess a patient, empathetic approach and are committed to making a lasting, positive impact on students’ lives.
